February 1st, 2018

The Bergen Performing Arts Center (Bergen PAC) is a concert venue in Englewood that hosts approximately 200 live performances throughout the year.  The Bergen PAC also runs a Performing Arts School that trains students of all ages, and is involved in community outreach programs, such as the one managed by our speaker, Helene Cohen.  Among her many duties, such as booking artists for the monthly gallery exhibit at the theater, Helene directs the Arts Access Initiative, a unique program that offers free tickets to make the live performing arts accessible to underserved individuals who otherwise would be unable to experience the arts.  Since she joined the Bergen PAC in 2016, the program has grown from 11 participating community organizations to 66, distributing over 17,000 tickets, and her goal is to expand even more in 2018.

Helene will talk about the work of the Bergen PAC in general and the Arts Access Initiative specifically. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet with Helene and suggest local non-profits that would benefit from partnering with her program.  Some free tickets to an upcoming show will be offered as a prize.
